Meet The Administrative Team

Executive Director
David Kiner
David was born and raised in Enfield, Connecticut, in a family where education, community service, and helping others were part of everyday life. As the son of two retired public school teachers and the brother of two educators, David developed a lifelong appreciation for the important role that schools, teachers, and caring mentors play in the lives of children and families. That passion for supporting children continues to guide both his professional work and community involvement today.

After graduating from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in Political Science, David returned home committed to giving back to the community that helped shape him. Over the years, he has served in a variety of local and state leadership roles, including the Enfield Town Council and the Connecticut General Assembly, where he proudly served on the Education Committee and worked to support students, teachers, and public schools throughout Connecticut.

David’s connection to Educational Resources for Children (ERfC) began years before becoming Executive Director. From 2017 through 2021, he served on ERfC’s Board of Directors, gaining firsthand experience with the organization’s mission and the positive impact it has on children and working families every day. Now, as Executive Director, David is excited to help continue ERfC’s tradition of providing safe, caring, and enriching before- and after-school programs where children feel supported, encouraged, and inspired to grow.

A strong believer in the importance of community and healthy childhood experiences, David also serves as co-coordinator of the local Healthy Kids Running Series program and coaches his children’s sports teams. He understands firsthand the trust parents place in those who care for their children and values the opportunity to help create positive experiences that children will carry with them for years to come.

David lives in Somers, Connecticut, with his wife, Gina, their three daughters, Juliet, Siena, and Lucia, and their golden retriever, Remy. Together, David and Gina enjoy supporting their daughters in all of their activities, whether cheering from the sidelines at soccer and basketball games, attending dance performances, or listening to piano practice and recitals. Family, community, and creating opportunities for children to learn and thrive remain at the center of David’s life both personally and professionally.
